This pic was taken during a very fun and hectic session of my creative writing workshop Echolalia, in 2016.

COUNSELING AND FACILITATING
I have worked as a counselor and workshop facilitator for over 10 years. I also hold a diploma in counseling and advocacy for assaulted women and kids from George Brown.
My favourite populations to work with are woman-identified youth and people living with chronic pain. I am particularly interested in anger and rage, and in their therapeutic mobilization. I integrate art and arts-based interventions in my practice. I offer private and group sessions and workshops.
TEACHING
I teach creative writing. I got my start teaching Writer’s Craft at The Dragon Academy, and have since hosted numerous creative writing classes. One of my classes, Echolalia Writing Sessions, runs intermittently for 8 week sessions. Echolalia strives to create a contained, nurturing community of writers while offering an informal history of writerly experimentation which draws heavily on Toronto-based traditions, surrealist games and group theory.
RESOURCE AND MATERIALS CREATION
I love making materials. It’s one of my favourite ways to combine the creative gestures I love most - writing, thinking about inclusivity, and helping others.
With my co-creator, Roisin Doherty, I produced a series of therapeutic cards called THE ANGER DECK. The Anger Deck is used by practitioners to enhance their work with marginalized and underserved people.
In recent resource creation news (say that 5 times fast), I am currently in the early stages of development on an exciting video game about depression with EMBREATE, a local interactive design and animation studio. While the details are classified, the final product will combine humour, testimony and tested approaches to therapeutic intervention. I’m excited to be working with EMBREATE on this exciting project.
